These were my goals for 2024.
1. Save $3,000 in IRAs
I ended up saving $3,500 in my IRA this year.
2. Save $2,500 in EF
With my benefit fundraiser and really scrimping we managed to add $20,000 to our EF this year!!!
I am still so thankful to my friends and family for their generosity. Unbelievable!
3. Get & keep both checking account buffers at $1k each

This was such a different year than normal with lots of events and changes. Tons of medical issues, the fundraiser, starting a job, etc. I'm not sure what to expect next year so I will have to think about what goals I want to accomplish. What I'd really love is a big home remodel. We need to fix our foundation and joists, dig out the crawlspace, rerun all the ductwork, and replace the floors.
I'm currently trying to find someone willing to do it so I can get bids and start figuring out a way to pay for it. I really don't want to take on a new loan until our land loan is paid off, but it may be inevitable. Ideally our current savings will cover most of it and then we could cashflow the rest, but I am worried the cost is going to be way higher than I'm expecting. So we'll see once I get bids.
