I'm back from a goat show with my mom. We won $800 but after expenses and splitting the net profit I made $100. It is mostly for fun and also promoting/improving our herd so any profit is just a bonus.
My web design income from last month came in. I paid $562.50 on the construction loan so it's down to $4,000 and I paid $165 on the CC so it's down to $3,500. That surpasses my minimum monthly goal, so that is good news. I love seeing those round numbers!
Husband has in fact been working 3 weeks straight, some days 12 hours. I'm sure that will give us a tidy sum to put towards debt next month even with my side income decrease.

For my breed of goat they hold about 3 shows a year across the country. I try to go to all of them. You bring your goats and shave them, clean them up, etc, and then walk them around a ring like a dog show. Then the judge picks the best goat out of each division, then at the end they pick the best overall winners. If you have won overall Grand Champion a specific number of times then the goat is considered a Permanent Champion and they get the title added to their registered name.
This shows other breeders that your goat was chosen as a superb quality animal, and promotes your herd as producing good stock. Hope that makes sense!
They have shows for pretty much all species of animals. They are all pretty much the same. The animals compete to have the best conformation over the other animals.
