So Embarrassed

October 28th, 2014 at 02:40 pm

I'm so embarrassed. Frown

I got so stressed and so busy, that I completely forgot to send the check for my water bill. I have NEVER been late on a bill. I sent the check today along with the 10% late fee. Boo. Luckily it wont show up on my credit report or anything.

The anniversary trip went well. Only spent about $50 in food, and $20 in gas. (Husband paid for it all)

But our shopping trip did use some money. I bought a pair of much needed used jeans, and 2 shirts for a total of $25.

I also bought a shelf for the house and some decor for $75.

But the biggest expense was a bridesmaid dress for my best friends upcoming wedding. $150. Ouch.

Unfortunately I also have to go bridesmaid dress shopping on Saturday for Sister-in-law's upcoming wedding which I am also in. Hopefully I can just pick it out and delay purchasing it for a month or two.

I just want these big ticket expenses over!

Dont be embarrassed. things happen. Have fun shopping for the dress. It does get a bit expensive but the memories are priceless.

I hope you and DH enjoyed your anniversary trip and got to chill out. Was the B&B one of those all decked out Victorian? Did you get to go hiking as planned?

I wonder if you'd consider listing regular/repeating bills on your cell phone's calendar so that it automatically reminds you 2 business days in advance of due date. I was surprised that you are still paying by cheque since it's more secure, faster and more efficient to use your bank's electronic system for nearly all services. Changing the date or sum to pay are mere clicks on a keyboard or [if you use the service] mobile via your phone.

Yes it was an old Victorian Catholic University & it was quite beautiful. Our suite had the biggest bathtub and shower I had every seen! We got a private candlelight tour of the grounds. We also went hiking at two parks which were equally nice.

Snafu, my bills are all due the same time, so it's usually easy. This month since I had a credit and didn't have to pay my electric bill, the water bill just slipped my mind. All the ones that I can pay electronically I do. But I can't for the water bill and electric bill, as far as I know. I even have to go out and read my own meter and total up the price... I live way out in the country. Is it's all manual.

It has happened to most of us once or twice, no need to feel embarrassed.

I've missed a payment recently mainly due to not being used to having paper bills anymore - I've got pretty much everything set up online or automatic, so a paper bill just didn't set in my mind too well - til I got the late notice. Oops!
