Need Help with Car!?

The first person came to look at it. Then texted me about 30 minutes later, saying they LOVE the car, and want to buy it, but they don't get their taxes until end of next week.

They want me to hold the car, and they will pay an additional $100 on top of asking price. Should I do it?

I have two people coming to look at it tomorrow, so I hate to turn them away, and then this lady changes her mind next week and I don't have a buyer.

But at the same time, full price is awesome!

Arg. Help!

    I wouldn't hold an item for a stranger without a non-refundable deposit. Smile

    I asked for a deposit. She is trying to come up with something.

    I think I know her somehow, but I just can't quite place her.
    I do know several people who are friends with her, so I'm going to ask around and see how trustworthy she is. lol.

    I am a cash in hand sort of person. I've had too many people flake out on me to hold an item for someone.

    I'd still have the other people look at it. If no better offers, maybe you could hold it for her (with a deposit, which is a great idea).

    That is always a tough one. I think I'd no, since you know you have other people looking! I'd tell her that too. Maybe if she really wants it she can figure how to get the money before her tax return arrives.

    that's a tough situation! honestly, "we'll pay you full price + $100 extra" sounds a little too good to be true since they don't have the money. if the others offer cash faster, i would take the definite cash. the "wait" people might be looking at other cars, too, and may change their mind. saying they want it doesn't guarantee that they will actually buy it in the end. good luck!!!
