I Was Bad

March 19th, 2014 at 08:28 am

I was very bad.

Despite owing way too much money to too many people I bought something yesterday.

It popped up on my facebook feed on a sellers club and I had to have it. It matches my kitchen perfectly, and we were in desperate need of some cabinet space.

We have literately only 3ft of cabinets and counters...

When we go shopping we have to just stack our food on the table because it just wont fit.

We also had our silverware and our cups sitting on the table, because there was no drawers to put them in.

Our kitchen was a disaster with no organization and no storage.

The night before I bought this husband was ranting about how we HAD to have some more cabinets in our kitchen. Then the next morning I saw this and I took it as a sign.

I only paid $150 which I think is a steal! Its the exact color of my kitchen, it is made out of real wood, it is heavy and a very nice piece of furniture. Nothing cheapo. Plus it has nearly no scratches or anything on it. Perfect condition.

We had to do some rearranging in the kitchen, but I think it works out nicely. A little snug, but much more cozy looking. Now I have more than enough cabinet space, I wasnt even able to fill it up!

It is way bigger than it looks in the picture. Its almost 7ft high, and over 4ft long.

I am super excited, and cant wait to finish decorating it, and organizing.

And yes if your wondering, if you squint hard you can see lots of pigs! My kitchen is green, with pink pig accents!

Not the end of the world financially. It does sounds like a great buy and a great way to stay organized.

I love it. And last month I fell in love with a high-end designer custom couch at Goodwill. I had a coupon, didn't really need it, but fell in love with it. And we're on the brink of unemployment (though we have a budget and severance in place). I pulled the trigger and bought it for $108. I don't regret it at all.

Looks like it was meant for your kitchen. Green and pink pigs is awfully cute! I have roosters in my kitchen, and one has meandered his way to the dining room!

I think it was a good buy, and sometimes you just have to grab them! It's very cute, and sounds like you needed it pretty desperately!

Thanks! I dont regret buying it at all. In fact every time I walk into the kitchen I am blown away by how much better the room looks. It is a very odd square room that has too much space in the middle that is empty, but not large enough to put a table in the middle. We turned the table sideways so it sticks out into the middle, and while I thought it would be strange, it gives it a much homier feel! I will have to take pictures soon.

Darn - I wish I had one - it would fit my kitchen/dining area and we are in need of extra space too - One nephew did dishes and crammed in cupboard and another nephew woke up and opened cupboard and experienced the attack of the dishes of doom, breaking one cup and ticking off nephew.

Right now we have a keyboard piano in dining room, a freezer, one cupboard with microwave and a ton of empty beer cans (nephew buys his own beer), a 50 lb bag of dog food and recycling paper and plastic.

    It is SO pretty

That's awesome! Sometimes you have to get creative in a kitchen space. We are in a tiny apartment and shelves would have been $200 or better for a dead space essentially so I make a temp shelf with cardboard boxes. (It's basically an insert you one would ever notice unless they were standing right next to it.)

No damage to the walls or investment in something that may or may not work in the house we are planning to buy. Retail price for your cabinet would have been a steep. Think of it as an investment for making home cooked meals much easier. Smile

Love it! You may have regretted it for a long time like that beautiful Italian red leather purse I passed up in a resale shop about 20 years ago! Plus you are in your 20s and have that low of a mortgage? You are doing well.

    Very cute! Smile

That is a beautiful piece of furniture. Definitely an investment piece that will last and last and can be handed down to future generations.

    Very nice!

There aren't many ways to solve the lack of kitchen cabinet space for that price. Looks like you will be using it every day and that it fills a need. And it looks great.

You might have to avoid Facebook for awhile, though.Smile
